Ombudsman Tasmania presents a celebration of 30 years of RTI in Tasmania
1 January 2023 marked the 30th anniversary of a Tasmanian statutory right for members of the community to access information held by public authorities. Initially this was under the Freedom of Information Act 1991, which came into force in 1993, and later followed by the Right to Information Act 2009. As a key stakeholder in the Right to Information scheme in Tasmania, Ombudsman Tasmania is delighted to invite you to a celebration to mark this milestone.
Ombudsman Tasmania has organised a celebration on 28 September 2023 from 2pm to 3pm. Cleo Hansen-Lohrey, Administrative Law Lecturer from the University of Tasmania will moderate a discussion about RTI with esteemed panellists Richard Connock, Tasmanian Ombudsman; Jenny Gale, Head of the State Service; and Claire Bookless, Managing Lawyer of the Environmental Defenders Office.
The event will be held at the Hobart Function Centre but streamed online and is open to all.
Please RSVP to rti@ombudsman.tas.gov.au by 26 September 2023 to receive the link for online access or for in person attendance at the Hobart Function Centre, as places are limited. Also please email us if you have any access requirements for attending or participating remotely.
