This Office will be routinely running a Right to Information workshop on the morning of the last Thursday of every month, for officers from public authorities and Ministerial offices.
The workshop will provide a basic overview of the Act, and step through how information is disclosed under RTI. The session will be suited to intending, new or inexperienced RTI officers, as it provides a general introduction to RTI and steps through the process for dealing with applications for assessed disclosure.
The workshops will run from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm, and will be held our conference room at 99 Bathurst Street, Hobart.
Bookings and enquiries may be made by email to rachel.castles@ombudsman.tas.gov.au.
A fee of $35 will be charged for attending the workshop. Each participant will receive a bound copy of the materials that they will need to have at hand in working with the Act.
Workshops for the more experienced will be offered in due course.
We are also able to provide workshops on request – for instance in the north of the State, or for individual public authorities or groups of authorities.
8.45am to 5pm (Hobart time) weekdays.
Free call from landline phones anywhere in Tasmania, but call charges may apply from a mobile phone.
